🎨 Artist Spotlight: Glow World

Hayley Watkin and Louise Edwards, better known as  Glow World , are a creative duo based across South and West Yorkshire. With around 13 to 14 years of experience each, they have built a strong reputation for bold, creative face painting and a passion for pushing artistic boundaries.

While face painting remains at the heart of what they do, Hayley and Louise have recently stepped into the world of body painting, a journey they began last year and are excited to explore even further in the year ahead. Their work is energetic, expressive, and often experimental, reflecting their shared love of creativity and collaboration.

One of their standout career highlights has been hosting their own convention, an incredible achievement that saw internationally respected artists such as Maayke and Marco attend, alongside guest artists Elodie and Lyudmyla, who were flown in especially for the event. For Hayley personally, another proud moment was being invited to instruct at UKFABAC, marking an exciting step in her teaching journey.

When it comes to inspiration, Hayley and Louise look to a wide range of artists they admire, including Luu Ruiz, Matteo Arfanotti, Samantha Helen, Elodie and Myla, among many others. Their influences are diverse, and this shows in the variety and originality of their designs.

A fun fact about the duo is that they both identify as self-diagnosed ADHD creatives, which they see as a strength rather than a challenge. Louise is known for her love of fresh notebooks to capture her endless ideas, while Hayley admits that once inspiration strikes, she can happily disappear down a creative rabbit hole bringing an idea to life. That energetic mindset is actually what led to the creation of their app and much of what defines The Glow World brand today.

At the FACE Conference 2026, Hayley and Louise will be demoing an Aqua Monster, incorporating elements of illusion painting. Known for their love of monster designs, this theme felt like a perfect fit for the conference’s elements theme and a chance to showcase the style they most enjoy painting.

They’re especially excited to demo in front of a new audience, having attended many jams and events over the past year. The opportunity to meet new faces, reconnect with the FACE community, and catch up with friends and fellow artists is something they’re really looking forward to.

Their hope for attendees is simple: to leave feeling inspired to try something new, with practical tips for adding simple illusion painting techniques into their own work.
