Behind the scenes: Of our fabulous FACE Members’ Website!
Hello! I’m Pauline, and I’ve been a professional face painter for over 12 years. It all started as a fun play activity when my daughter was only 3 years old, and it turned professional really quickly. I loved bringing smiles to children’s faces (and big kids!) It is my passion now, and I love the chaotic creativity and joy it brings.
When I joined the International Face Painting Association (FACE) in 2021, it was because I wanted my customers to feel confident, not just in my skills but also in my commitment to safety and professionalism. FACE is one of the most respected organisations in our industry, and becoming a member had always been on my mind. I’m so glad I finally took the leap to speak to my area rep Lisa and filled out that form, it’s been an amazing experience, and I’ve had the chance to meet some truly incredible people along the way.
I love FACE for so many reasons, the support from other members, the tips and tricks, and all the advice about health, safety, and best practices. But what really stands out is the sense of community. Everyone is so generous with their knowledge, and we’re all here to lift each other up.
That’s why, when the opportunity came to redesign the FACE website along with Zoe, I jumped at the chance. My weekday job as a graphic and website designer at Design and Print Scotland meant I could help create something that truly represented this amazing organisation’s vibrant, creative, and supportive spirit.
I’m so proud of the result, and I hope our members are too. Our community website feels like a home, a bright, cheerful, and welcoming space filled with everything members need to thrive.

My Favourite Features
Everyone’s favourite part of the members-only section is the exclusive discount codes for many of the biggest suppliers in the face-painting world. I stock up on my favourite paints, brushes, and glitter while saving money, it’s a win-win!
One of the standout features in my opinion is the Find a Face Painter search tool. Customers can search for FACE members in their area, making it easier than ever to find the perfect painter for their event.
As a member, you can upload your details, contact information, examples of your work, and your certificates. It’s like having your own mini-portfolio on the FACE website, giving potential clients everything they need to book you with confidence.
We’ve recently launched our new blog, too! This is where our members can share their stories, offer advice, and pass on helpful tips and tricks. It’s a great place to connect, inspire, and be inspired by others in our community. Stay tuned as more member share their stories.
Why FACE Means So Much to Me
What I love most about FACE is that it’s more than just an organisation, it’s a family. It’s a place where face painters come together to learn, grow, and support one another. And because FACE is a not-for-profit association, everything we do is for the love of the art and the people we paint.
Helping to redesign the website was a big task, but it was also an exciting and rewarding experience. I poured my heart into creating something that not only looks great but also makes life easier for our members. As a face painter myself, every feature was designed with you in mind, and I hope you’ll find it as beneficial to your business as I do.
